What is this about?

I created this site for a variety of reasons. The first is that I really enjoy coding and creating something. I got my first taste of HTML back in the day when I had my myspace account. For those who don't know Myspace was a social networking site that pre-dated Facebook. It was, in my opinion, far superior, but for reasons I cannot explain lost the popularity race. At the time you could adjust the look of your page by adding styling elements to the document that allowed your page to stand out amongst your peers. It was simple things like making a box a dashed line, that is purple, or setting background images.

Another reason I created this was to tie my professional social site, Linkedin to a resume that sits in a format that I control. I also love the freedom that HTML gives me to control the layout in a way that I understand and can make use of. I find it easier to perform the layout with html and css which are free and anyone can use, that isn't dragging and dropping. If you can understand a grid layout and some simple coding the freedom you get is fantastic. If you look at my resume page you may not think it's anything over the top, but try to make a design similar to that in Word, you will not have a good time.

Lastly - I own a few domains with my name on them so why not use them?
